I am writing to apply for the post of boat captain, advertised in ………………………..….

I would like to present my résumé in more details as follows:
I am currently retired after 27 years of active service in the coast guard:
Holding post graduate degree (PGS) in maritime security that included theoretical and
practical training, in addition to covering most of the international maritime organization
(IMO) conventions, the most important of which were: ISPS, MARPOL, STCW, SOLAS.
When I was second officer and master of coast guard patrol unit, I often relied on
international conventions as a legal reference for exercising my powers.
When I was commander of the territorial group of coast guard, it was under my
responsibility: 03 patrol boats (30 m), 01 rescue boat and 12 rigid-hulled inflatable boats and
a coast surveillance center where we did the following:
– Protecting sensitive strategic points, coastal surveillance, rescuing human lives, assisting
disabled ships at sea, combating marine pollution, preventing illegal fishing, and addressing
the phenomenon of illegal immigration.
– Coordinating between various civil authorities (civil protection, customs, border police,
port authorities) to protect port facilities and all ships, monitor risks, and seek ways to
prevent them. In addition to my skills and experience as a boat captain, I would bring to the
post a proven ability in maritime domain.
